Bristol broadcaster Sangeeta Dewan is returning to the airwaves following the loss of her husband Mahesh in November 2021 from a brain tumour.

In a message to her many followers and colleagues she has described her time away as “a Journey of Healing and Personal Growth”

Sangeeta co-hosted the One Love Breakfast show for many years and appeared on BBC Radio and other TV and media over the years with her unique take on both Asian lifestyle, music and British culture.

In a heartfelt message she said “After taking time to navigate the loss of my husband and the deep healing process that followed, I’m excited to announce that I will be returning to BCFM Radio as a presenter. This has been a journey of immense personal growth, and coming back to the station now feels like the perfect time to reconnect with the community that has meant so much to me.

Losing my husband was an overwhelming experience, but through this challenging time, I’ve found new strength and clarity. The healing process has taught me so much about resilience, love, and the importance of connection. Returning to the airwaves will allow me to bring a fresh perspective to my work and to share the lessons I’ve learned about navigating grief and rebuilding life”.

She added “During this time, I also pursued personal and professional growth, becoming a qualified Rapid Transformational Therapist and receiving an award for my work as a life coach. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how we can heal, transform, and thrive even after the most profound loss.

Returning on BCfm as a broadcaster isn’t just about returning to what I love—it’s about opening up deeper conversations, offering support, and creating a space where listeners feel seen and heard. I’m eager to reconnect with the community and continue delivering the engaging and heartfelt content BCFM Radio is known for. while sharing some insights I’ve gained through my journey”.

BCfm’s CEO Pat Hart who presented with Sangeeta for many years said “We’re incredibly pleased that Sangeeta is returning home to her BCfm family. As a group of volunteers we’ve always had a special bond and we know it’s going to be an emotional return. Sangeeta is a strong and resilient human being and I know that Mahesh would be smiling as Sangeeta goes back behind that microphone as part of our brand new schedule. We’re all so proud of her”

Sangeeta’s first broadcast will be on Friday 10th October at 9am She looks forward to sharing this next chapter with her listeners.
