Bristol community radio station, BCfm, has been recognised at the 2022 Community Radio Awards. More than 400 entries were received from stations across the country.
The Bronze Award for Speech and Journalism was presented to our weekly environmental programme, One Love One Planet, after the culmination of an intensive judging process to recognise those producing great quality content and engaging with their communities.
The awards ceremony was held in Bedford, alongside the UK Community Radio Network
conference.
Penny Southgate, producer and presenter of the show, said: “I’m over the moon that the show has received this award and the fact that it shows that programmes about the climate emergency are not just doom and gloom and sounding alarms, but are entertaining and make great radio.”
Martin Steers, awards chair, said: “The recognition for Speech and Journalism is well deserved, and we hope it recognises their success, and encourages others to engage, represent and support their communities.”
Listen to One Love One Planet every Tuesday morning at 11am on BCfm Radio, 93.2FM, DAB, Online and Smart Speaker.
The show is also available as a podcast on all major platforms.
