Station manager Pat Hart said ” To be able to have the rescources to cover Black History Month so extensively has been an exciting project for us as we attract a massive African Caribbean audience with some of the UK’s best reggae, House and Soul DJ’s on our station. DJ’s like Dezzi Rankin, Nikey & Nytro, Freshblood Crew, Deli G, Tristan B, & Clement George are not just local but national & international names that have helped us pick up the biggest proportion of Black, Minority and Ethnic listeners than any other station in the city. Our coverage included tributes to the late Princess Campbell, interviews with Buju Banton, Levi Roots, Jazzie B and factual documentaries about civil rights and an array of positive Black history topics”
